Ashland Parks & Recreation Department, Rogue Valley Audubon Society and the Klamath Bird
Observatory will celebrate Migratory Bird Day on Saturday, May 8, from 8 amnoon at the North Mountain
Park Nature Center, 620 North Mountain Avenue in Ashland. This year's event theme is the Power of Partnerships.
The event offers a variety of engaging outdoor-learning activities for birders of all ages, interests and abilities. This year's bird-calling contest will have new categories and rules. Please check back soon for the 2010 schedule and rules. Hourly guided walks are scheduled to the mist netting and bird-banding station to view migratory and resident birds up close and learn more about local conservation. ‘Bird-friendly’ shade-grown coffee will be served. Wildlife Images Rehabilitation and Education
Center will offer magnificent birds of prey for easy viewing.
